Dorrie's collection from the liverpool biennial
The urban angels cary on an ancient tradition of giving gifts of a gardian angel image, this dates back to pre-christian beliefs which are still strong under the surface of every day liverpool life. The angels represent ancient forces in a modern setting and will be leaving liverpool as a message of goodwill to the rest of the country.
The urban angels exhibition formed three parts, the first was the launch of 10,000 balloons as part of the opening ceremony, part two was the exhibition in the Quarter gallery 7-11 Faulkner Street as the third part Dorrie will tour the exhibition to key places where balloons have landed - carrying on the celtic tradition of symbolic angel giving.

These photographic collages were first exhibited in 2002 at the Hanover Gallery in Liverpool during the Liverpool 2000 Biennial, these have now gone on tour and are currently on show in Tokyo
